This week, E-consultancy releases figures from its latest research that show the UK email marketing market is set to grow this year by 25% to £148m. Findings from E-consultancy’s ‘Email Marketing Solutions – A Buyer’s Guide’ reveal that strong
growth in the market has been driven, in part, by downward pricing pressure, which is lowering the cost of outsourcing email requirements. The report predicts that combined factors of price pressure, US competitors launching in Europe, and the maturation of the market will see consolidation or mergers and acquisitions likely in 2005/6.

E-consultancy CEO, Ashley Friedlein, comments, “Current trends towards targeting and personalised delivery preferences are further helping to revitalise email, which remains one of the top communication choices for marketers. With basic email delivery becoming commoditised, value-added services, such as strategy development, copy-writing and branding, have also shown significant growth.

“It is certainly a buyer’s market. There has never been a better time to outsource email requirements – costs have been substantially reduced and there are a range of pricing models to suit. Better still, email delivery platforms and reporting technology are more robust than ever.”

The 119-page Buyer’s Guide features in-depth market research and SWOT analysis to help internet marketing teams build a business case for an investment in email. It includes tips on best practice and detailed vendor profiles to help you make the
correct decision for your business. The report profiles 14 email marketing providers for this report to help buyers quickly evaluate suppliers operating in this area.

The email services checklist in the vendor profiles uses the following criteria to help buyers compare and contrast: Full Service, ASP, Off-the-shelf software
solution, Strategy and Campaign Planning, Design and Copy, List Provision, Data Management, Data cleansing, Dedupe and Validation, Broadcast, Data Capture Services, Tracking, Reporting, Data Analysis, Event-triggered messaging, Sequence Messaging,
Dynamic Content Solutions, Personalisation, Flash, Video and Audio. …ends/
