Summary = Community groups and residents in Jacksonville, Fl. now
have new source of support for grant writing and fund raising consulting.
Tracy Bryant a grant proposal writer for the City of Jacksonville
has partnered with The Writer’s Ink to develop a grant development
self-help program.
Press Release
Body = The Writer’s Ink, a downtown Jacksonville firm announced
its plan to launch the self-help program to provide grant writing
assistance for local faith based organizations, community groups,
small businesses and individuals. The self-help program entitled
Get the Proposal; Get the Grant, consist of workshops, manuals and
CD/ROMS designed for first time grant applicants. Participants receive
first hand knowledge from an expert that has written proposals for
The Mayor’s Office of Faith and Community Partnerships.
“We believe
every community has unofficial leaders; pastors, parents, teachers
and coaches” explains Bryant. “These are the people
who have ideas for improving their community and are committed to
hard work, but often they need additional skills or
resources to turn those ideas into realities. End users can utilize
Get the Proposal; Get the Grant to enhance writing skills and www.GrantTalk.com
to find
grant writing information with the click of the mouse.
Bryant warned
organizations to be aware of the high-cost, fly-by-night seminars
and late night infomercials. “If it were that simple to get
a grant…. every organization would be funded, but many people
have been exploited by the so called guaranteed
grant approval sales pitches”, Bryant added.
“Our goal
is to build strong organizations,” says Bryant. “Quite
often a well written proposal is the foot-in-the door and can be
the key to grant funding.
Overall we want to help improve grant seekers chances of approval;
unfortunately many first timer applicants need assistance in proposal
development”.
Bryant was also
invited to participate in The White House Conference on Faith Based
and Community Initiatives. The annual conference discusses ways
to help improve the federal government’s new style of grant
funding including President Bush’s addition
of the Faith Based and Community Initiative Act.
Free onsite
workshops are available to any organization seeking grant funding.
Manuals and CD/ROMs can be ordered at www.GrantTalk.com or by calling
