(Columbia, South Carolina, July 11, 2005) - Independent Music Revue, a burgeoning music outfit carving its own distinctive trailblazing niche in the vast musical
landscape of South Carolina and abroad, returns for a second year providing an outlet of creative release to the underrated musical dexterity of artists residing within the palmetto state and within the neighboring cities within the southeastern region.

Embarking on an eight week run (beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 & reoccurring each Wednesday evening for the succeeding weeks ending September 21, 2005), Independent Music Revue's amateur contest and accompanying "Starving Artist Showcase" will serve
as the canvas for the colorful collage of musical artists from an array of musical genres (Rock/Alternative, Reggae/Dancehall, R&B/Soul, & Rap/Hip-Hop), all of which will converge on stage at Columbia, South Carolina's Club Headliners in the heart of the city.

With this year's unofficial theme geared towards promoting unity & diversity through music within South Carolina and neighboring southern metropolitan regions ever evolving musical scenes (Charlotte, NC, Augusta, GA, Savannah, GA, Atlanta, GA and other premiere southern hot spots). Riding the wave of success & fanfare of last year's contest and showcase in which popular emerging local and indie artists such as: Lyric, Charlotte, NC; Native Wood, Greenwood, SC; Dan Johns, Florence, SC; Palm Metal, Sumter, SC; and countless others participated in last year's showcase, this year's event is destined to surpass the previous!

The winning "Starving Artist" participant will receive a plethora of career shaping prizes including but are not limited to: production from Columbia, SC based Supa Hot
Beats Incorporated with the opportunity to record a five (5) song EP, 1000 CDs fully packaged, photo shoot, EPK/Video package, promotional merchandising, an exclusive interview/appearance on the 'Independent Music Revue' television series (a subsidiary venture of the Independent Music Revue) which airs weekly, Sunday nights at 11:30pm on WACH Fox 57 Columbia.

Continuing in the spirit of its purpose, the Independent Music Revue contest and "Starving Artist Showcase" has been designed to present opportunities for independent artists and labels within the Southeast to perform and promote their talent on stage before their musical peers from varying genres of music and levels within the entertainment industry.
