Press Release Body = For almost a month, CJ Marley has been running a donation drive
aptly named "Operation Teddy Bear." With over 1000 donated items accumulating in
Mrs. Marley's dining room and no solution in site to transport the donated items,
Mrs. Marley is joining forces with DisasterCorps (www.disastercorps.org) out of
Tarboro, NC to distribute the items so far received.
"Earlier this month I sent 50 of our received donations with a DisasterCorps
volunteer, Margo, as she was heading down into some of the worst hit areas of
Louisiana and Mississippi," CJ Marley stated, "and the items were such a huge hit
with the kids who have so very little left of their very own. Now I have over 1000
donated items sitting in my dining room and no way to transport them!" CJ found the
perfect solution by volunteering to go down as a DisasterCorp volunteer to help
distribute supplies while at the same time distributing the teddy bears and other
assorted donated items she has received.
CJ Marley is still receiving donations from all over the U.S and the numbers of
donated items are growing daily. While she is still actively seeking donation for
Operation Teddy Bear, she is also asking people to seriously consider donating to
Disaster Corps. CJ states “Disaster Corps has been going door-to-door in smaller
outlying areas of Mississippi to insure that all surivors are receiving much needed
supplies. Most of these areas only have centralized supply locations for
distribution of the supplies, but there are many survivors who have no means to get
to those centralized distribution points. That's where Disaster Corps is making the
difference! They are seeing to it that those who are stranded and can't make it to
the distribution points get the supplies they so desperately need!” Disaster Corps
greatest need at this moment is monetary donation solely so they can get the
supplies down to the affected areas.
