At the age of 55 Richard Ellis finally took the plunge and done something that he and his wife Veronica have considered for years. In an exclusive interview with the Team at D2rworldwide from the terrace of their new Mediterranean property abroad on the Costa Blanca, they look back on 2005 with fond memories.
As Richard holds up his old trousers and shows photos of himself at the beginning of the year weighing in at a cool 17 stone, its hard to believe that it's the same person. He explained how this dramatic U-turn has completely changed their life for the better.
"I've had a weight problem for years, as a long distance haulage driver. I can't exactly say my diet was a healthy one. Heavy smoking, weekend binge drinking and no exercise I'm surprised I'm here at all! I have tried all types of diets but with the stress of day to day life and constant traffic jams, the temptation for a pit stop and a good old fry up has always been too irresistible!" Richard said laughingly.
"We have always dreamt of a property abroad, living a different more relaxed Spanish lifestyle. With just one year to go on our mortgage we decided why wait, let's do it now!
