Industry = Internet & Online
Press Release Summary = Teen gives up her education to create a bigger and better Myspace. Stephanie Meagher, 15 quit school last year inspired to create a community site that will outperfom Myspace.
Press Release Body = Stephanie Meagher is no ordinary fifteen year old. While other teenagers her age are cramming for exams she\'s on her computer working on ( http://www. blahblahbox.com ), the site she claims will be bigger and better than myspace.
Like millions of teenagers, Stephanie discovered myspace and spent hundreds of hours making friends on the site until she got bored with it\'s bland design. This inspired Stephanie to quit school to set up her own community Web site that could outdo Myspace in design and function!
"One of the things that makes Myspace cool is that people can design their own profiles and make a statement about themselves. " says Stephanie, " Blahblahbox goes further than that. Not only can members customize their profile but the whole site can be skinned so it\'s easy to create a look on blahblahbox that suits who you are. This is one of the most exciting parts of the site for my members."
Getting to the point she\'s at with blahblahbox has been a bumpy ride. Unable to afford to have the site designed and created, Stephanie had to be resourceful. "I found a company who were doing exactly what I needed for my site so I took a chance and emailed them. They were looking for some design work to be done so I offered to do it in exchange for the script I needed for blahblahbox and they agreed!" says Stephanie.
Stephanie claims blahblahbox has a lot more to offer than Myspace, even at this early stage. "Blahblahbox has a built in profile generator, so members don\'t have to go elsewhere to design their profiles and a flirt function which is great fun." She admits that trying to compete with the major players is a big challenge. \"It\'s going to be difficult.\" she says, \"I\'m one person with no money to invest competing against sites that have millions invested in them.\" Confident, she comments, "My site will sell itself once the word begins to spread. It\'s got great looks and cool functions and my determination behind it." says Stephanie.
Asked if she plans to profit from the site, Stephanie comments, "Who knows what will happen. I\'ve got four or five years to think about that. Right now, I just want to enjoy the site and focus on building up membership."
