www.Water-Stocks.com (WS), an investor and industry news portal for the water
sector, presents exclusive market commentary in an article titled, \"Insiders Fill Up
on Water Shortage Play", part of the regular \"Insiders Corner" column, by well-known
financial writer and author Michael Brush. Mr. Brush also writes a weekly market
column for CNBC on MSN Money. This week's column takes a look at global factors
driving opportunities in the water market. Mr. Brush highlights key issues such as
water scarcity and infrastructure build-outs that have created increasing resource
needs and benefited companies that sell purification products and transport
equipment.
"Shortages of fresh water are a major problem in both developed and developing
countries. Companies that sell equipment used to transmit or purify water should
benefit. The pipes, valves and pumps that transport water throughout many parts of
the U.S. are over a hundred years old and in bad shape. So a major replacement cycle
lies ahead," explains Brush.

Insiders Fill Up on Water Shortage Play

The upshot: There are now shortages of fresh water on every continent, says Brean
Murray, Carret & Co. analyst Michael Gaugler. The Southwestern region of the U.S.,
of course, has had problems for years. In China and the Middle East big projects are
under way to create new supplies. Parts of Africa and India have shortages that
create ongoing crop failure and mortalities.
These trends have sparked investor interest in water-related stocks -- or the
companies that not only sell water but also supply the equipment that purifies it
and desalinates it, and pipes it to your kitchen.
So it should be no surprise that insiders were buying heavily when some of the stock
of one of the biggest water infrastructure equipment companies, or Mueller Water
Products, was spun out of its parent company. In the first ten days of June, they
purchased $3.4 million worth of Mueller stock for prices between $15.26 and $16.
