Press Release Summary = SpivO's launch of SpivO Maps is just the beginning. The long term objective for the mapping project will connect the mapping system with SpivO Travel.
Press Release Body = Today, SpivO Search (http://www.spivo.com) announced the launch of SpivO Maps. The service is being launched as a test or "research channel" and accessible only through the SpivO Workshop. For the mapping system, SpivO selected Google Maps. This is the first SpivO channel that is completely reliant on Google or Yahoo.
SpivO's decision to use the Google Maps API was based on the functionality Google Maps has to offer to users and in an explanation found on SpivO Maps, SpivO states "We believe the Google Maps API gives us the most freedom to accomplish our development goals for the project."
At the moment, users can see maps and satellite images of any location accessible in Google Maps but pinpointing exact addresses and driving directions are still on the drawing board. SpivO was unable to schedule a press conference for the release but Chris Kazor, president of SpivO.com's parent company, American Marketing Management Motivational Services, Inc., released this statement, "This is really just the beginning. Unlike allot of other content we get from third party sources, maps and geographical information only come from a limited group of sources. SpivO Maps is very young so at this time, it is best for us to work with the most easily acquirable mapping data which is Google Maps."
SpivO strongly encourages people to use the system and to contribute ideas via the SpivO Workshop. To search SpivO Maps, visit http://spivo.com/maps/search/ .
