28-year-old Rennaé Matthews is about to revolutionise children's party
entertainment. Forget sending the kids home covered in mud or paint. after a Soap &
Bubble party they'll be racing home for a bath!
Soap & Bubble Parties provide entertainment for children's parties & events,
complete with everything needed for the kids to make (and take home) a variety of
soaps and bubbly bath goodies.
"I won a start-up business competition earlier this year," says Rennaé, "which has
given me the drive to go into business - launching www.soapandbubble.com this
month!"
Developing the bubble business "After the birth of my first child I decided I didn't want to go back to an office
job," says Rennaé. "I was fed up of working in places where I was undervalued and
extremely bored." But sitting around complaining about the boss wasn't Rennaé's
style. She started looking for inspiration to start her dream business.
"I started selling handmade soap at local markets, and then learned the craft myself
at one of The Soap Tub's adult classes last," says Rennaé.
"One night I was describing the process to a friend's daughter, who is 10. She was
fascinated and wanted to have a go. The idea for Soap and Bubble parties was born!"
Perfecting the recipes was the hardest part, but after months of research and
experimentation, Rennaé had a line-up of products suitable for children to make and
use.
"I had a pink-stained bath-tub and a messy house, but finally my package was ready,"
laughs Rennaé. "I was ready to host my first party!"
Arriving in the bubble machine (her branded VW Beetle), Rennaé comes with all the
equipment and ingredients for sweet smelling soaps, fizzing bath bombs and
shimmering body glitter.
"The parties we've held have been a huge success. Children love taking home their
beautiful, fun creations. As for me, I think it's the best job in the world!"
