Press Release Body = Seattle--Holiday Resales, a division of Holiday Group, just concluded its first-ever virtual timeshare seminar, or \"webinar.\" Participants on the Web as well as at Holiday\'s headquarters in Seattle attended the seminar. It was followed by an extended question and answer session.
\"We had Web participants from California to New Jersey,\" said Alan Renberger, Holiday\'s Chief of Operations. \"It\'s an exciting way to educate prospective timeshare owners without them having to leave the comfort of their homes.\"
Gail Bennett, a ten-year professional in the timesharing industry and Holiday\'s Director of Sales, conducted the seminar and spoke to audience members about the facts and fictions of vacation ownership.
\"The turnout was phenomenal,\" Bennett said. \"It was refreshing to see so many people being proactive in their desire to learn about timesharing. People are savvier today about doing their own research, and webinars are another tool they can use to help them make a decision.\"
Among the topics Ms. Bennett explored were: why developers charge so much for timeshares; how to select the best family timeshares; obtaining hard-to-get exchanges; and the benefits of buying resale versus retail timeshares.
Lisa Ann Schreier, author of \"Timeshare Vacations For Dummies,\" and founder of Timeshare Insights (www.timeshareinsights.com), applauded Holiday\'s efforts to help consumers navigate the sometimes-confusing world of timeshare.
\"Despite what the mainstream timeshare industry believes,\" said Ms. Schreier, \"a better educated consumer is the industry's best friend.\"
Recent statistics show that over 4 million households in the U.S. own timeshares (often more than one), but uncertainty over how timesharing works has prevented many consumers from considering vacation ownership.
\"Holiday Group is making huge strides in removing the mystery that has always surrounded timeshares,\" Ms. Schreier said. \"Consumers will now be able to get the unbiased information they want without being pressured to make a purchase.\"
Bennett added, \"It\'s important to us to help people determine whether timeshares are the right product for them. We\'re happy to clear up any confusion they may have.\"
