London (adverse-credit-business-loans) 25 November 2006: Brits prefer to go online for borrowing and saving. Being hassle free and much quicker, online transaction works as a favourable alternative to high street banks. This fact is suggested by a report from think tank Social Futures Observatory.
Research shows that 74 per cent of the Brits would prefer taking out a loan through an online \"social lending\" community than going through the high sreet bank. Consumers apathy for high street banks can be assesed from the fact that over 60 per cent believe that their bank's main aim is "to make money for themselves\".
On the contrary only 15 per cent are of the opinion that its main aim was to provide them with a good financial service. The study was conducted by professor Michael Hulme, who told the Guardian that for the majority of the public the traditional form of banking was seen as almost a \"necessary evil\".
He said that for most people, banking did not provide any form of rewarding or valued experience, it was simply a necessity. He also added that the community sites they looked at appeared to offer a much deeper appreciation of the individual far beyond the actual transaction.
