Many and various folks view email and business letter writing as an acutely simple
and easily acquired skill, but it's among the most difficult styles of writing and
requires steadfastness to master. It constitutes the direct writing style and may be
called conversation far away. Its forms are so distinct that no enduring rules can
be put into place to control its length, style or subject matter.
The principles of writing should be recognized by everyone who has any interest in
written language. Almost everyone at some time or other has the need to write some
friend or acquaintance far away, where moderately few desire to direct their
energies towards any other kind of writing.
In letter or email writing the first writing approach is to be authentic and
clear-cut. There can be simply a self-directed out-pouring of words as they
naturally come to you. This will bring together your writing style which also will
bring into being most of your verbal communication. We will be repelled by a person
who is rigid and laborious in his conversation and in the same way the awkward and
wearisome letter bores the reader. Whereas if it is light and in a conversational
vein it immediately keeps their attention.
The letter that is written with the greatest simplicity is the best kind of letter
because it clearly expresses what is in the writer, he doesn't have to search for
his words. They flow in undeniable unison with the ideas he desires to communicate.
When you write to your friends to tell them how you spent Sunday you don't have to
look around for the words or research set phrases with a view to please or impress
him. You just tell him the same as if he were present with you, how you spent the
day, where you were, who you were with, and what you did. So, you write honestly and
it's this type of writing that is adapted to emails or business letters.
There are numerous kinds of letters, each calling for a different writing style of
address and composition. Even though this is the case, your email or business letter
must always sound sincere when read. The writer should never attempt to convey an
impression that he is other than what he is. It would be silly as well as vain for
someone with a limited education to try to put on literary airs and emulate a
college professor. He may be exceptionally intelligent, but is not as well developed
by education, and he lacks the polish which years of literary research will yield.
