One of the highlights of their journey was visiting orphanages in Vietnam and Thailand. They ventured deep into the highlands of Vietnam, hiring a car, driver and guide to get them to the small town of Kom Tum were the orphanages are struggling to put food on the table for over 400 young Vietnamese children. The orphanages turn no one away, taking in Newborns through to teenagers.
Leah and her family took school supplies including writing books, pencils and Vietnamese story books as gifts. Along with soccer balls, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps and provided a cash donation to buy a meal for the kids. They spent the day at the orphanage where their boys aged 9 and 10 joined in for the day of learning and sport.
They then headed to the North of Thailand near the Burmese border and spent an afternoon with orphans playing in the rice stacks of the nearby paddocks. They prepared a meal with the children and donated sporting equipment and food as gifts.
