Industry = Real Estate
Press Release Summary = The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) has commenced judicial review proceedings against the department for communities and local government (DCLG), it has been announced.
Press Release Body = The decision surrounds the perceived lack of \'proper consultation\' by the DCLG in the lead up to the passing of legislation concerning home information packs (Hips).
\"Rics has not made the decision to commence Judicial Review proceedings lightly,\" commented Teresa Graham chairman of Rics\' regulatory board
\"We have exhausted all the alternatives and greatly regret that we were left with no other option if we are to protect the public\'s property interests.\"
Critics of the scheme such as fast sale property firm National Homebuyers argue that the introduction of Hips - scheduled for June 1st - will disrupt the housing market. Director Julian King says: \"The prohibitive price of producing a pack will prevent homeowners from putting their properties up for sale. We believe that the average price of a Hip will be in excess of £500.
\"Vendors looking to avoid the financial outlay involved in arranging a Hip are welcome here. National Homebuyers does not require a Hip in order to purchase a property. We are finding many, many people confused and misinformed about the packs and seeking an alternative way of selling their home quickly and hassle-free.\"
National Homebuyers can arrange a fast property sale and is available at www.nationalhomebuyers.co.uk/index.asp or by calling 0870 979 8118.
