Press Release Summary = Add Web Update Wizard to your application with a single line
of code.

Press Release Body = Delivering automatic updates to users over the internet just
got an awful lot more difficult for software developers following the launch of
Microsoft's new Vista operating system. To solve the problems raised by Vista User
Account Control, Powerprogrammer have just released version 4 of the Web Update
Wizard, which allows developers to add auto-updates to their applications with
literally a single line of code.

Vista's User Account Control (UAC) stops traditional automatic update mechanisms
from working and requires standard users to 'elevate and authenticate' to computer
Administrators in order to receive updates. Even computer Administrators are
prompted by UAC before updates can be successfully applied. This stops many of the
traditional mechanisms built into software for delivering updates from working
correctly.

Thanks to PowerProgrammer.co.uk and their new Web Update Wizard Version 4.0,
software developers can now replace their existing auto-update mechanisms with a
simple plug-in component set, which can be added to their existing Windows
applications with a single line of code.

The Web Update Wizard is driven by a Windows service, guaranteeing a seamless update
experience for all users, whether or not they are administrators or limited users.

The new Web Update Wizard also works elegantly in corporates, where XP/2000 users do
not have rights to their Program Files or other critical folders. It delivers
updates automatically and without administrator intervention. It also works under
Windows Terminal Services, even when multiple users are accessing the application
which needs to be updated.

Adding the Web Update Wizard to any Windows software is an 'easy win' for
developers, which customers find very attractive. The Web Update Wizard can be
built into any Windows development paradigm which supports either calls to simple
32-bit Windows dlls or alternatively which can launch a Windows process.

No server side processing is required - the software developer just uploads a simple
update script and the updated application file(s) to their web server. The Web
Update Wizard client components download and process the script and determine
whether an update is required. The Web Update Wizard has a built-in unzipping
capability. It can interact with users in their own languages via customisable
language files.

It can launch any number of Windows processes, either before the update or
afterwards, in either the logged on user's security context or the 'Administrator'
(SYSTEM) context. The appearance of the Web Update Wizard dialog and progress boxes
can be customised with the software house's own logos, titles and colour schemes. A
comprehensive log is maintained to enable tracking / debugging of update activity.
The Web Update Wizard redistributable adds a maximum of 270Kb to a software
installer.

The Web Update Wizard Version 4 runs under Windows Vista/XP/2003/2000/98ME and is
available now for the special launch price of $129.95 USD for use with a single
application. An unlimited application license is launched at the special price of
$499.95 USD. There are no recurring or ongoing fees and support is provided free of
charge for the first 12 months.
PowerProgrammer take pride in providing fast, high-quality support, as evidenced by
the numerous customer testimonials available from their web site.

A free 30-day trial version of Web Update Wizard can be downloaded from the
company's web site.
