Press Release Body = ATLANTA - July 13, 2007 - Are you tired of dead-end dating? Tired of spending months trying to figure out if the person you are dating is really the one for you!?! Amanda Brown, an Atlanta-based cultural creative genius extraordinaire, first created a series of clever, whimsical card games called Playing the Field to help single girls (and guys) avoid months of uncertainty, guesswork and potential heartbreak.
The games are designed to make couples laugh, learn and grow, while at the same time discover intriguing facts about their potential significant other and most importantly, if they are the right one or not.
Now, Brown is offering up even more good girl talk with the debut of her new book, The Field Guide to Playing the Field. And, yes it is an actual guide to playing her game, but it also offers practical dating guidance to benefit every single girl on the hunt for the right man. Set for release today, the book spells out exactly how to interpret what he says during all of those endless conversations that crop up on those first few intense dates, around drink number 3.
After the success of Playing the Field, the game, Brown decided her fun; unconventional way to help new and established couples learn about each other should be put on paper.
"I just got to a point where I realized I can't be the only girl who has found herself on an uncomfortable first date or who is frustrated trying to understand the whole relationship thing," said Brown. "I felt like I could give girls some good advice and insight, based on my own experiences. I wanted it to be fun because dating should be fun, right?"
Brown stresses, "It's not cheesy! It's not lame! The questions that are asked are things we should know about a future partner. Many married couples can't even answer some of these questions regarding their spouse. I think that's a problem. There are so many couples out there who don't make it - maybe they just didn't ask the right questions."
Since so many of us don't know what they are, Brown spells them out in Playing the Field. By asking the questions for you in a game format, she makes it easy to ask the right questions without making it uncomfortable for you or your prospective mate.
. "Tell me about your network of friends." (One look at their friends and you know if you should run or hang for awhile) . "Do you know how to use power tools?" (Come on ladies.we need a handy man) . "Are you an animal lover?" (Be honest, you're not going TO part with Sparky.EVER!) . "Are you the lord of your own land, or do you answer to a landlord?" . "Do you like kids?" (gotta know your future, most of us are on a five year plan) . Have you ever been married?" (be real, it's something you want to know) . "You receive a large bonus, what do you do with the money" (Is he greedy?)
These are questions you want, and need to know, but sometimes they are just a little too uncomfortable to ask. Some of the questions are a bit probing, others just help spark conversation -- either way you are going to get to know the person sitting across from you just a little bit better with the help of Amanda Brown and The Field Guide to Playing the Field.
