Los Angeles, California, July 19, 2007 - According to Wang Xin of the General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the sample tests they have ran turned up with results showing that the tires were qualified to be marketed in the U.S. Wang\'s exact statements regarding this matter was quoted by the China Daily.
Recently, the U.S. authorities have ordered for the recall of almost 450,000 tires manufactured by the Hangzhou Zhongce. This was done after the company\'s distributor in the U.S. claimed that the tires lacked a vital component.
Of late, a significant number of recalls and warnings in the United States and elsewhere pursuing Chinese exports have hit China. These recalls have included seafood that contain drugs, toothpaste that is made with noxious chemical and toys for children that is made using lead paint.
As a result, Beijing launched an extensive effort to restore the reputation of Chinese export industries in order to maintain and protect its access to other countries\' markets, especially the U.S. They also promised to become more aggressive concerning enforcing safety standards in the products.
However, the Chinese government also issued a challenge to some of the warnings with the firm declaration that most of their goods do not have any problems. They also stressed that some other countries have a poorer record about product liability issues.
The news media in China have given prominent coverage to the Hangzhou Zhongce company\'s case since it is second to the country\'s biggest company that manufactures tires. Meanwhile, other companies that have their products recalled are small companies and a lot less popular.
