Press Release Summary: Creative Technology Services, or CTS, (www.ctsmius.com) announced that it acquired PlainSense Wheelchairs, Inc., a Peachtree City, Georgia company. CTS is continuing to focus on its growth in the medical device industry, and retained the services of CJPS-Enterprises, LLC (www.cjps-enterprises.com) to help develop strategies and tactics to grow organically as well as through acquisitions.
Press Release Body: Through this acquisition, CTS is stating that it intends to have its own product line in the mobility market, as well as continuing to provide contract assembly of complex medical devices to its customers. CTS became independent last year, when it carried out a management buyout from well-known automotive supplier MSX International.
The main product that was acquired through this transaction is "theBUGŪ" pediatric mobility device. The originator of "Transitional Mobility", this pediatric wheelchair seamlessly transitions to meet the changing needs of the maturing child. It can be configured, in a matter of seconds, as a stroller or self propel-able wheelchair as either front or rear wheel drive.
"Until now, dealers, therapists and families were limited to devices that were very 'use specific'. The flexibility of theBUG to meet the changing needs of the child is superior to anything on the market", states PlainSense President, Jim Papac. "In addition, the chair's ability to accommodate seating is unparalleled. Starting with seat widths and depths as small as 6" (with up to 6" of depth adjustment), it can accommodate growth up to 16" without frame modifications, first with simple adjustment, and later by changing the seat and back" he adds.
"We are very pleased with the acquisition of PlainSense" said Don Leith, President and CEO of CTS. "Not only do we now have one of the most creative pediatric wheelchair designs on the market, but we have also inherited a terrific executive, Jim Papac that will help us grow that part of our business".
CJPS Enterprises assisted CTS in relocating this acquisition from Georgia to Michigan through its contract with the 21st Century Jobs Fund Life Sciences Pipeline, managed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
