Press Release Author: Charlotte Burrows
Industry: Real Estate
Press Release Summary: Home Information Packs (Hips) could see homeowners become more environmentally-friendly, one expert has claimed.
Press Release Body: According to Julian Brooks, managing director of eco-property website GreenMoves, the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) section of Hips could make a real difference to the focus of the housing market.
As well as property owners splashing more money to make their homes greener, more and more people are realising that the value of their homes could rise if they take green issues more seriously.
He added that many people may hold off putting their homes on the market until their EPC ratings have gone up.

Mr Brooks said: \"They may think it is money better spent and I think people will start to be more discerning when it comes to these properties, especially if they are average properties and not those that are in unique locations.
\"People are now thinking about energy, they are thinking about the costs of running something and therefore it\'s become almost the standard. It\'s still early days but I think it will, in this current climate, affect the decisions made when purchasing average properties.\"
