Press Release Summary = New design delivers increased flexibility by providing a future upgrade path to LANsense Intelligent Infrastructure Management (IIM)
Press Release Body = Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 2, 2007: Nexans today announced that it will be launching its latest snap-in patch panel range providing increased flexibility for the first time in the Middle East at Gitex Technology Week 2007. The worldwide leader in the cable industry will launch both a complete new concept of LANsense upgradeable panels and its brand new fiber optic LANmark OF snap-in panel globally at the mega technology exhibition. In addition to launching the new products, Nexans will be showcasing its wide range of LAN Infrastructure solutions at its stand in Hall No. 1 (Stand: B-45) at the Dubai International Convention Centre.
"We are delighted to announce that we will be launching our new snap-in panel range at Gitex Technology Week 2007. We will be introducing our best-in-class products to the Middle East for the first time and we are absolutely confident that Gitex is a perfect launch pad for it. Nexans always designs products keeping our customers in mind. These new products are flexible and can be easily upgraded in future," says Mr. Tarek Helmy, Regional Director, Gulf & Middle East, Nexans Cabling Solutions.
The concept behind the LANsense modular patch panels is to meet the growing demand for more flexible solutions, which will enable the transfer to intelligent network systems at any stage during the development cycle. With convergence and change management driving the need for increased flexibility, the new panel will be ideally suited to applications where intelligent infrastructure management may not be considered as an immediate requirement today, but enables future implementation without the need to re-cable.
"These panels are compatible with all Nexans' snap-in type connectors from Category 5e to Category7, both screened and unscreened, adding further intelligence upgradeability." Mr. Helmy adds. "No significant new installation is required and disruption is minimal. This development ensures the most versatile and comprehensive panel offering in the cabling industry."
Nexans will also launch an innovative fiber optic LANmark-OF empty patch panel that is equipped with easy-roll wheels to facilitate trouble-free installation procedures. To accommodate extended cable management, the panels contain multiple openings and provide for both cable glands and tie-wraps to fasten cables. The front now offers three optional positions; recessed, flat or pulled-out. They are robust and stable enough to prevent any movement while patching is done. As with all their products, the new optic fibre snap-in patch panels support standard protocols and come with a full LANmark system warranty.
"Our newest technologically advanced offering, the LANmark-OF empty patch panel for 24 optic fibre snap-in connectors with sliding mechanism, will bring customers a user-friendly pre-terminated package with two large openings at the back for easy access to the panel while at the same time protecting connectors against accidental damage. This fiber optic panel will be making its global debut at Gitex and will simplify the deployment of fibre optic networks." Mr. Helmy explains.
The new panels meet the same high functionality and flexibility standards users have become accustomed to with Nexans' current metal version of these panels, but their improved features further contribute to Nexans' drive to future-proof their users' systems.
Nexans will be exhibiting these revolutionary panels along with their other cabling products and LAN Infrastructure solutions at their stand (Hall 1, Stand No. B-45) at Gitex Technology Week 2007.
