Press Release Summary: Sicap announced today a new record of platform sharing, with no fewer than nine of its software implementations running in networks of a mobile operator group compiling and sharing statistics for marketing purposes.
Press Release Body: World leader in Device and SIM Management, Sicap has the technological ability to allow global operators to multiply usage of the platforms by subsidiaries. In line with operator group strategy to consolidate operations among subsidiaries, Sicap has positioned itself as a leader in interoperability and modularity between the components of its in-house, Java-developed platforms.
As a result, today Sicap is the only European software partner to run both Device and SIM Management platforms among multiple subsidiaries of operator groups. The potential for automatic service marketing across group subsidiaries is huge.
For centralized marketing teams, deploying Sicap's modular Device and SIM management software means that they can track and compare regional statistics of service usage. An over-the-air Dynamic SIM tool-kit (DSTK) applet can then update handset service menus according to what the statistics reveal.
For operators, gaining and maintaining control over subscriber services has never been so important and they are achieving this through vendor-independent Sicap software. Utilising consolidated DSTK helps operator groups differentiate multimedia service offers and therefore position themselves in the best possible way to attract customers. Another sizeable advantage of DSTK automatic handset menu sets is the ease of access to information, logos, ring tones, games and mobile banking applications for users. For the subscriber, the (U)SIM is a personal, portable gateway to new services. For operator groups, SIM-OTA menu management is the key to controlling ergonomics among subsidiaries and making sure that the most attractive offers are always presented to their customers.
Operator groups are also increasingly using Sicap SIM-OTA as part of their consolidation strategy to control roaming of their customers. New roaming agreements and international operator alliances are constantly changing; and the (U)SIM is the only linkage point between the network operator and customers. The PLMN list on the SIM card contains the parameters that control which network the subscriber will roam onto when they are outside of their home network. By making sure their network partners and sister companies are always at the top of the PLMN lists, operators can keep lucrative roaming revenues within the group or within a partner network alliance. Roaming Management also gives an operator more negotiating power when making roaming deals with foreign network operators. An extended application of PLMN roaming control is the ability to introduce customized special rates for customer segments such as corporate employees roaming in an international VPN environment.
An array of consolidated network access options can be deployed within operator groups via Sicap OTA platforms. Common examples are Fixed Dialling Numbers (FDN) and Abbreviated Dialling Numbers (ADN) which need to be updated whenever service numbers change.
On breaking the OTA convergence record, newly appointed Sicap Director of Product Marketing Achim Korber said, "Sharing the benefits of Device and SIM-OTA Management means that Sicap software takes on a new cost-effective dimension both for cross-network systems within operator groups, and for leasing agreements with MVNO partners."
