Press Release Summary: A realm in which everything appears as it is infinite can happen at this time of year only at OASIS 2007.
Press Release Body: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani provides an atmosphere that nurtures techies and whiz kids who are encouraged to do what they believe in. October each year is the time of metamorphosis of the Institute and the quaint town Pilani in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan turns into a pulsating amalgam of youth.
For BITSians OASIS \'Open Accessible Student Integration System\" is the widening of the mind and of the spirit and epitomizes the process by which a person becomes all that they were created capable of being. The 96 hours of nonstop excitement and entertainment has a matrix of On Stage and Off Stage Music, Dance, Theatre, Poetry, Photography and whole lot of Creative events.
With \"Psychedelia\" as the theme, for the 37th All India Cultural Festival OASIS 2K7 scheduled from 16-19 October, Sunit Rikhi a proud alumnus of BITS Pilani who shot to fame with his stellar leadership role in the development of Intel's process technology automation for 300mm fully automated wafer fabs triggered a mind blowing start on October 15th evening.
Proud to be a BITSian, Sunit Rikhi who did his B.E. (Hons) Electrical & Electronics Engineering from 1974 to 1979, puts passion into whatever he does. His passion for technology and the undying mission to make something different puts him indeed as a techie cut above the rest. Its no wonder that today he is the Vice President Technology & Manufacturing Group and Director Advanced Design Logic Technology Development, Intel Ronler Acres Campus, Hillsboro, Oregon USA.
Recalling his nostalgic days at BITS, Pilani, when this thorough bred BITSian Sunit Rikhi thundered with his punch line that BITS educational system prepares you for facing the toughest of challenges in life, there was delirium all over. When he recited a poem linking every aspect of BITS Pilani, the Richter scale measured over 8 in the jam packed auditorium of the Institute to trigger a psychedelic tsunami of applause for every line of his poem.
For BITSians OASIS with a budget of over 30 Lakhs is all about Passion driven by Passion and that is why it continues to remain as the jewel in the crown among college festivals in India name it Pulse, Mood Indigo, Spring Fest, Saarang, Antaragni, Alcheringa, Rendezvous, Thomso and what not. No wonder over 800 participants from about 40 colleges are at Pilani for this year OASIS to experience the psychedelia.
No wonder that this year OASIS has a fantastic bundle of sponsoring organizations which include Banking Major SBI, Hush it up Hutch Vodafone, Entertainment major STAR Channel V, Café Coffee Day, Pizzawala Dominos, Games India Kreeda, IT major Cognizant Technology Solutions, Generation Next cola major Pepsi, Not Just Another Magazine JAM, spreading all over SMS Country, Style Setter Gazelle and Apna Orkut Reliance Bigadda.com.
The inaugural function on Monday which included creative mime show and dances ended at midnight with a dazzling show of fireworks
For a BITSian, OASIS indeed is much more than an isolated area of vegetation in a desert and once in a lifetime experience that no one even remotely connected with it once, would even dream of missing ever again.
