Press Release Body: My Own Orchestra is offering amazing incentives to young composers to write new orchestral music. The grand prize includes $500 in cash, a recording contract, a professionally recorded CD of the composer\'s music and worldwide distribution of the winner\'s CD through online giants like Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, Arvato, AudioLunchbox, Bitmunk, Emusic and many more! There are also quite impressive first and runner up prizes.
Young composers have never had it so good. In the past, getting an orchestral performance has been nearly impossible for most composers, and even more so for young composers. Now they have an opportunity that lets them explore never before available worlds of sound. My Own Orchestra is able to offer this by the utilizing the most amazingly realistic and articulate sample sets on the planet, combined with decades of composition, arranging and recording experience that results in a sound that is so utterly indistinguishable from a "real live orchestra" you won\'t believe your ears.
My Own Orchestra\'s ultimate goal is to help the next generation of orchestral composers find their voice and get their music noticed in the real world. In the words of Leonard Bernstein, \"I\'m not interested in having an orchestra sound like itself. I want it to sound like the composer.\" We are hoping to find many young self-portraits in the entries we receive throughout the life of this contest.
The current contest deadline is January 31, 2008.
