Recent studies show that the cost of real estate in Michigan is among the lowest in

are listed at a fraction of their actual value because banks and mortgage companies
are anxious to get rid of them." Maupin states that he's lost count of all the
vacant houses that have popped up on the radar over the past three years. "This is
because of the adjustable rate mortgages that have skyrocketed causing people to
lose their homes." He goes on to say, "Now people don't trust realtors and this is
