Press Release Summary: Comprehensive Super Bowl Section Covers the Game, Interviews From Football Hall of Fame Members, and Stories from Former NFL Players on Disaboom.com
Press Release Body: Denver, CO - January 31, 2008 -Tom Brady was photographed limping outside his Boston-area home on Saturday and while he boarded the Patriots' team plane to head to the Super Bowl on Sunday without the protective boot, it stood as a reminder of the injuries that are inherent in the sport of professional football. As the excitement of the Super Bowl builds, Disaboom.com, the largest online community for people with disabilities, has pumped up its coverage of the convergence between football and disabilities sharing the inspirational stories from the gridiron.
The Disaboom.com Super Bowl section hosts a feature on Marc Buoniconti, son of NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti, who was paralyzed from the neck down in a 1985 football injury. Nick Buoniconti is a member of the Patriots All-1960's AFL Team. In 1972, Nick was part of the undefeated Miami Dolphin's team which went on to win the Super Bowl. Now both Marc and Nick are huge supporters of "The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis" located at the University of Miami School of Medicine. The "Miami Project" is the world's largest comprehensive spinal cord injury research center dedicated to finding more effective treatments, with a cure for paralysis as the end goal.
The Disaboom.com Super Bowl site also includes a video interview with Nick and Marc covering the Miami Project's role in administering the treatment for Kevin Everett, a Buffalo Bills tight end injured earlier this season. Everett received a treatment his doctor learned at the Miami Project just months before, which some credit for allowing Everett to walk again.
Other elements of the Super Bowl site include:
o Nick and Marc Buoniconti talk about New England Patriots efforts to tie the 1972 Dolphins' perfect record. o A Look at How Football Players are Making a Difference Off the Field. o Creating an Accessible Media Room o Dating a Football Fanatic o Stroke Champs: Former NFL Players Tackle Stroke Survival
