Press Release Summary: Although you might be the best nurse at the Hospital there are other nurses that might be able to help you with special hospital processes or new procedures
Press Release Body: I have a 7 year old son and my wife and I are currently working with him on his social skills so that he learns how to make friends easily. Going through this teaching exercise for me has shed light on the basics of making friends and being liked by others. So much so that it reminds me of what our Travel Nurses go through each time they go to a new assignment. First impressions count Be on time, ask questions to help you do your job (write them down so you don\'t have to ask twice), be dependable and helpful, go the extra mile to help out are all common themes that we hear from Travelers. Like the old saying goes, you don\'t get a second chance to make a first impression and it is hard to change people\'s opinion of you. Make friends with everyone Since you are new, don\'t just become friends with one group of Nurses because you might find out later that knowing only a small part of the staff may limit knowing other nurses who you may enjoy working and becoming friends with. It is best to just get to know everyone and then over time decide who you want to be friendly with. Observe who the best Nurses are Although you might be the best nurse at the Hospital there are other nurses that might be able to help you with special hospital processes or new procedures. Nurses are very compassionate people and are almost always willing to show their talents.
Get to know your coworkers Eating is not just about getting nutrition, it can be a tool to get to know others. It is a time when people can take a step back and let their hair down. Don\'t miss an opportunity to sit down with the people you work with and to hear the things that they are interested in. Even though you are nurses, you are also real people with lives outside the hospital.
If you want to read more about this subject one of the best books I have ever read is Dale Carnegie\'s, \"How to win friends and influence people\".
