Press Release Summary: Is the use of cryptographic techniques the only way to the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of electronic documents?
Press Release Body: Cryptography is a fairly simple and reliable method of safely transferring electronic documents. The biggest concern when using cryptography is most of the time not the possibility that someone is able to decrypt the message, but more often the problem that the message (or key) is intercepted directly before or after encryption. That would make the encryption efforts useless. If a virus for example is trying to intercept sensitive information from your machine, then the harm is already done as soon as you open your document to encrypt it (or after decrypting it). Also with the availability of increasingly affordable fast hardware, it will be necessary to keep upgrading the cryptography levels to avoid that the cryptography can be broken within a for the cracker acceptable time period.
