Press Release Summary: New Collaborative Web Service Keeps Teams Close Together, Virtually
Press Release Body: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh - January 29, 2008 - Navaraga Corporation today officially announced the launch of Kamune, a new collaborative web service under development since 2006. A joint effort between Navaraga Corporation in the U.S. and its subsidiary Navaraga Information Technologies Private Limited in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Kamune will initially be rolled out to business customers in the Indian market.
"The explosive growth India is experiencing marked it as a natural place to launch Kamune," said Raja Abburi, President and CEO of Navaraga. "The people here are ready for what's new, and the early response to our service so far has been extremely encouraging."
The Kamune service uses a metaphor of virtual places for interaction and organization, designed to make communication and coordination more natural while also helping to maintain a shared context. For example, a room on the system can house all of the information pertaining to a specific project, providing a common location for multiple workgroups or team members to review updates and contribute content. This makes it easy for distributed teams to work together, different branches to cooperate, and management to stay in the loop without unnecessary meetings or costly travel.
The web-based nature of the system allows users located anywhere to connect remotely, and eliminates the need to install or maintain any proprietary software. This allows the team to stay in sync, whether the members are located down the hall from one another or on the other side of the globe. After purchasing licenses, users can log in to the Kamune web site, utilizing a combination of text chat, messages, file sharing, status updates, and voice conferencing to stay connected. Beyond communication, there are a variety of tools available on the system to help increase daily productivity and track progress.
Establishing and maintaining a multinational presence has been an important focus since Navaraga was founded, lending a global perspective on customer needs that has driven the design of the system. Additionally, the company's progress and success thus far can largely be attributed to the effectiveness of Kamune, which allows the teams in Seattle and Hyderabad to work together as though they are in the same office.
Abburi notes that, "a side benefit of our company's distributed nature is that we have the opportunity to use Kamune every day, and rely on it to get our work done. We test and refine the service as we go, since we're the first customers for everything we develop."
