whimsy to children everywhere, Cathryn and Melissa founded Snippets in 2007.

About Snippets:

Snippets - An 18-year dream come true!!

Cathryn Ridlen has been a self-taught, right-brained, fly-by-the-seat of her pants
artist for as long as she can remember. As a child she was always collecting bits
and pieces of junk and making little treasure from them. In 2001 she began focusing
on mixed media collage. Her work has been shown nationally at galleries in Colorado,
California, Hilton Head and Washington DC. Among her many buyers is actor, Kevin
Bacon, who purchased an original collage of a mermaid!! She now creates little
treasures everyday with her long-time, best friend, Melissa Hayes.

Melissa Hayes is the left-brained, technical/business mind behind Snippets. She is
the ever-organized, detail oriented, errand girl, marketing queen, computer/web guru
of the company!! In her spare time, she tries to keep Cathryn "focused" which is a
huge job in itself!

Today, after 18 years of friendship and numerous conversations about owning a
business together, their dream has come true.


Truly Original:

All of our designs feature original art work by Cathryn Ridlen. Each design starts
out as a pencil sketch and then the collage is created using "snippets" of paper
from various sources, textiles and small objects. The backgrounds are then done
with pastels and more collage, thus bringing Whimsical Bits of Fun to any child's
room.

With 20 designs in the current line, anyone is sure to find the perfect fit for
their child. Parents can choose from one piece to add to an existing nursery or
children's bedroom or create a whimsical room by selecting an overall theme in a
variety of products.
