Press Release Body: Atlanta, Georgia - Jan 31, 2008: Golf lovers worldwide, and particularly in the United States, will now have their own business network, the Virtual Golf Society (VGS).
Founded with the motto of "golfing for a better world", VGS aims to attract extraordinary people bound together by a passion for golf to affect positive changes to their respective communities. Towards fulfilling this noble end, VGS has announced the launch of its flagship website, www.vgsgolfers.com which will provide an online platform to facilitate social and business networking amongst golfers from all over the world.
Membership of VGS is free and open to golfers from all skill levels from starters to the advanced golfer. VGS has devised a novel color scheme to group golfers according to their skill levels and enable members to easily find other golfers in the same color band. An important benefit of membership is the significant discounts for members on tee times from golf courses across the US. The ability to locate golfers from across the world, particularly for traveling members, provides the opportunity for people to meet, interact and forge long-term business relationships on the golf green.
"VGS believes that doing business on the golf course is a great way to meet and increase business contacts," says Bradford Patterson, VP of Global Business and Partnering Division. "This website is created to help golfers from around the world to come together, find one another and build personal and business connections that benefit themselves and the communities they operate in, using the common fabric of the game of golf."
In the short time since its launch, VGS has already demonstrated one of the many ways it aims to fulfill its motto of 'golfing for a better world'. Recently, VGS organized a golf tournament where its members donated canned goods for needy families.
"We are trying to create a large and truly well-knit community of golfers. To achieve that we hold tournaments for both social and competitive golfing. Our regular newsletter will also keep our members abreast of our various activities besides offering interesting features on the game itself," adds Patterson. "By the end of this year, we are aiming to have brought together at least 20,000 golfers to be part of this dynamic and influential community. We are well on our way to achieving that important milestone."
