Mumbai Champs find solace in win over Chandigarh Lions

Press Release Body: The Mumbai Champs have failed to make a place in the semi-finals of the Edelweiss Challenge of the ICL Twenty20 matches. But before going out of competition, they make a try against the Chandigarh Lions and win the match with a convincing margin.
The toss was won by the Mumbai Champs and the captain Astle chose to bat first. As the innings started, the opener Jadhav faltered a bit and lost his wicket. That brought Patil in the picture but he too was dismissed very soon. So it was Paul along with Astle who managed to put together some runs for the team. Sixty runs were scored in power play at the loss of two wickets. Paul scored 30 runs and Astle scored a good 42 runs off 39 runs. The middle order batsmen could not do much but put in their best effort. From the lower order it was Khirid who managed to lend the required momentum to the team by scoring a fast 32 runs off 24 balls. Total score of the team was 160 runs. Hall from the Lions team obtained 4 important wickets from the Champs.
Faltering in the batting line up can be said to have caused the Lions this defeat. The highest scorer from the Lions team was Chetan Sharma with 23 runs. TP Singh scored 21 runs and three other players could make runs in double figures but were not able to cross the twenties mark. Captain Cairns scored just 6 runs. The team finished at the score of 125 runs giving a victory of 35 runs to the Mumbai Champs.
The Man of the Match was Iyer from the Mumbai Champs who obtained two wickets from his spell of four overs by giving off 13 runs.
