RED MOUNTAIN RECORDS FIRST STUDIO ALBUM RELEASE - A Long Wait from Hong Kong`s only International Record Company
Released on: March 28, 2008, 6:12 am
Press Release Author: Tina Kwok from Red Mountain Records
Industry: Entertainment
Press Release Summary: Today, Red Mountain Records (RMR), Hong Kong, announced it has set release dates for its first studio album. RMR is the only company in Hong Kong making English language music for the international market, which sets them apart from the crowd. A position that has proved difficult, until now.
Although releasing a compilation CD in 2006 through its distribution division, RMR has finally done what it set out to do, make original music. The album has a quality rarely heard today thanks to the 1000 hours of production in Hong Kong, so the wait should be worth it.
Press Release Body: In 2007 RMR had to let 2 Artists go for not being able to meet the high standards required for their projects. RMR then found success in singer/songwriter Neil Cousin who had the voice and musicianship to meet the ambitions of the company. The production began in November 2007 and was completed in February 2008.
"It was not nice to have to cancel 2 projects last year, but those Artists could not perform to our standard when taking the demos to final productions, so we had no choice. We set out to make world-class music that stands the test of time, and this first release exceeded everyone's expectations, so we are very pleased" says General Manager Jack Chan.
The new album, named "Double-Life Taxi" is an Art-Rock project that is reminiscent of Lou Reed and David Bowies work in the late 60's and early 70's. The album will feature just 10 of the 14 tracks made and marks the first official release for Dan Puzny as a Producer, who unofficially signed Neil Cousin to RMR back in 2006.
"He has great talent, he plays his guitar brilliantly and sings perfectly with a beautiful vocal range, what more could I hope for?" comments the Producer. "He wrote all of the songs, played more than half of the music on the album, which is hard work for a solo Artist".
The album is set for release in electronic format in April, with the first country being Malaysia on the 21st followed by other Asian countries before the Global CD release.
The release starts with Asia, but RMR plan to make it available in over 50 countries by the end of the year.
The album can be heard in full on www.neilcousin.com until April 21. Neil Cousin will be touring to support the release of the album.
