Yadav, Patil lead Champs to Victory against Rockets

Press Release Body: In the match that took place on 18 March at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Panchkula, Mumbai Champs scored their first two points by defeating the Ahmedabad Rockets by 6 wickets with two balls still remaining. The best performers of the match were RP Patil and Avinash Yadav.
The toss between the teams was won by Damien Martyn and he opted to bat first. Openers Hinds and Dholpure started very confidently having played good innings in their earlier matches. But the bowling attack led by Patil did not let them relax and always kept them on their toes. We saw 30 runs coming from Hinds' bat and 29 from Dholpure before they both got out. This saw Goodwin and Martyn come to play but both these players could not go beyond the single figures. Sriram came and scored 19 runs and was run out by Jayantha. Streak could not score at all and Sodhi, Patel and Vora together contributed just 14 runs to the score. A total score of 131 runs was put up for the Champs to target.
Jayantha and Paul came out to open batting for the Champs after the innings break but Paul could score just one run before he was caught by Vora off Gillespie's ball. Jayantha stayed on for relatively longer but could score just 13 runs. Patil had acquired initial support from Jayantha and then went to score runs through various well-timed hits. Astle joined him after the departure of Jayantha and again was there to score just 12 runs. Powar too failed to make a considerable difference by scoring just 19 runs. Khanolkar was the man with Patil when the tesm emerged victorious and he scored 13 runs. Patil made an unbeaten 66 runs off 46 runs and was awarded for it too.
