Press Release Summary: Now, aerospace companies in India can get certified to AS
9100 and AS 9120 locally

Press Release Body: Mumbai: TÜV SÜD South Asia now holds the distinction of having
AS 9100 and AS 9120 auditors locally. In addition to having an AS 9100 auditor, TÜV
SÜD South Asia now also has an AS 9120 Lead Auditor in the AIEA grade, with Veto
Person status for Aerospace Certifications, making it the only certification body in
India in this space.
Certificates are issued under ANAB (USA) accreditation, and being the largest
consumer of aerospace industry, an accreditation from USA has the highest
acceptability in the aerospace industry.
For the benefit of the aerospace industry, TÜV SÜD South Asia also conducts AS 9100
and AS 9120 awareness and internal quality auditor training programs. These programs
are conducted by faculty with over twenty year\'s experience in aerospace and defense
with auditor approval from RABQSA, the competent authority of aerospace auditor
approval from America.
About AS 9100 and AS 9120
AS 9100 and AS 9120 standardize quality management system requirements for the
aerospace industry from production to distribution. AS 9100 is a quality management
system specific to the aerospace industry for quality assurance in design,
development, production, installation and servicing. It is applicable for aerospace
and defense suppliers, and represents impressive efforts by the aerospace industry
to produce a single standard for use across the global aerospace community.
AS 9120 is for stockists and distributors of aerospace products. Based on ISO
9001:2000, but with nearly 100 additional requirements specific to aerospace
distributors, AS9120 provides suppliers with a comprehensive quality system focused
on areas directly impacting product safety and reliability.
The aerospace industry is moving quickly towards requiring their suppliers to be
AS9100 and AS 9120 compliant / certified. By becoming AS9100 compliant / certified,
suppliers not only gain a competitive advantage but achieve significant improvements
in quality and safety, and reductions in cost, throughout the value chain. They also
reap benefits from the improved processes and achieve continual improvement that is
the foundation of ISO 9001:2000 certified Quality Management Systems.
