To mark the special occasion, Cobweb has donated £400.00 to the charity to help install a Wi-Fi network in the hospice. In celebration, Cobweb has also released five helium-filled balloons representing 40,000 into the skies over Rowan's Hospice and a mystery prize awaits the lucky people who find them!
Cobweb provides hosted email and IT services to small to medium sized businesses to enable them to concentrate on their core business without getting bogged down with the technology. Established in 1996, the company has witnessed phenomenal success and is now one of the industry leaders. Rowan's Hospice has outsourced its website hosting to Cobweb and has also purchased 60 email mailbox licences from the IT services company.
"As a charity we are always keen to keep costs to a minimum, so when it came to managing our IT, it quickly became apparent that outsourcing our email and website hosting to Cobweb would be a simple, cost-effective and secure alternative to doing it ourselves," explained Anne Yendell, Director of Finance and Operations, Rowan's Charity. "It was an added bonus that we were the 40,000th customer! The donation will enable us to install a Wi-Fi hotspot that, for the first time, will give patients and visitors wireless access to the internet enabling them to look up information, contact friends and family and share photos and videos."
