Press Release Summary: Karlsruhe and Hong Kong, April 04, 2008 - ABAS Business Solutions (PRC) Ltd. announced today that the company\'s abas ERP system has been successfully implemented in Michael Weinig (Yantai) Machinery Co. Ltd.(Weinig China).
Press Release Body: Founded in 1996, Weinig China is a 100% owned subsidiary of Michael Weinig AG Germany, the leading manufacturer for the solid wood processing machinery industry. Weinig China\'s business has been developing rapidly. The average annual growth rate has remained over 30% since its foundation.
Rapid business development has placed a higher demand on production and purchasing management in Weinig China. To ensure all work orders were completed on time, production resources like materials, machine equipment, etc. needed to be better allocated. However, the increase in production put a strain on the supply chain process, making it more complex and less manageable. Problems like lack of materials and postponed deliveries appeared, which affected both customer satisfaction and the company's ability to compete. Meanwhile, the bottleneck in production management was also exposed at Weinig subsidiaries in other countries. Given the situation, Weinig Group made the decision at the end of 2005 to implement abas ERP system at its worldwide companies to achieve efficient management. The process began in 2007 with Weinig China and implementations are now in progress at locations in Spain and Switzerland. Further projects are planned in other world regions during the course of 2008.
Since it was an international project spanning several global subsidiaries, Weinig Group expected the ERP vendor to be rich with experience in international projects and provide local support to its subsidiaries. Also, the system\'s multi-language support was necessary. After selection and comparison, ABAS was the chosen vendor.
Cooperating with ABAS AG, Weinig China\'s ERP project was implemented by software partner Abas-PRC in February 2007 and successfully went live at the end of 2007. With efforts from both parties, the benefits the system brought to Weinig China were obvious. Supply chain procedures like sales, purchasing and production were optimized. Previously, when deciding the types, quantity and delivery dates of the materials to be purchased, purchasing officers had to calculate and summarize the data from the production department manually. Nowadays, the corresponding Purchase Order Suggestion (POS) can be automatically generated by the system according to the productive data in the system. The only thing that the purchasing officers now need to do is communicate with suppliers. The result is an accelerated purchasing process, guaranteed JIT purchasing with sufficient stock, and the prevention of errors caused by manual calculation.
Furthermore, having successfully implemented abas ERP projects worldwide, data can be shared internationally throughout the Weinig Group. The distribution status of the subsidiaries can be viewed from the headquarters at any time, offering timely and exact information for international decision-making.
