Press Release Summary: Audio Visual solutions provider revamps major lecture theatre to provide students with fully automated cinematic and presentation facilities
Press Release Body: London, 7th May 2008 - Touchvision, a full service Audio Visual supplier and a part of the MediaZest Group, has designed and deployed a state of the art AV solution for one of the UK's most popular universities, Canterbury Christ Church University. By completely revamping the university's Powell lecture theatre to offer HD projection and top-class surround sound, students at Canterbury Christ Church University now have access to fully automated cinematic and presentation facilities that will support their education and training.
Holding up to 250 people, the Powell theatre is one of the main auditoriums at Canterbury Christ Church University used for hosting lectures and film screening. Previously the venue had an in-effective surround sound coupled with SD projection. Working with the university's AV department, Touchvision deployed an AMX control system that enables lecturers to display a number of PC and video sources on a three metre projection screen. And to deliver a true cinematic effective, the theatre now has a dedicated six metre electric screen and a Sanyo 6000 ANSI Lumen HD projector. For excellent audio quality, Touchvision installed a Dolby 7.1 surround sound system to provide an accurate reproduction of cinema soundtracks.
"Touchvision has helped us to achieve a truly modern AV environment which is key to the success of the university as a whole," commented Jim Manuel, AV support technician, Canterbury Christ Church University. "It helps give the university a professional look and feel, which is important for attracting new students and it also gives those studying courses such as media and journalism access to cutting technology that will arm them with the rights skills for the work place."
"As the competition for students increases, universities have to demonstrate how they can enhance the educational experience," commented Geoff Robertson, CEO, MediaZest Group. "By revamping its lecture theatre Canterbury Christ Church University is investing in vital resources that will help students for years to come."
