The website, which is dedicated to providing daily Costa Rica news and travel information, turned the spotlight on its readers this past May, challenging them to inspire one another with travel stories from around the world. The goal of the contest is to highlight the important lessons that come from stretching beyond cultural and physical boundaries to get to know the world around us.

Three months after the contest\'s launch, with only days to go, over 70 contestants have posted stories from all corners of the globe that reflect on travel experiences that have changed or impacted them in some way. From meeting an online love interest for the first time 14,000 miles away, to getting malaria in Africa on a not-so-typical family vacation, to a family left \'homeless\' on a 1-day visit to Boston, the stories reflect on changing perspectives, love, serendipity and lessons brought on by hard times as well.

All of the entries, along with the contest guidelines, have been posted on the contest website, allowing readers to browse, vote and comment on each piece. Entries are still being accepted through the website and by e-mail through the end of the day on Friday, Aug. 1. The contest winner and recipient of the luxury 6-night vacation to Costa Rica will be chosen by a panel of three judges and announced on Monday, Aug. 4.

Aside from the grand prize, the website has been naming monthly winners to receive a 10% off coupon on any vacation booked through the website\'s travel affiliate and contest sponsor, Costa Rican Vacations. The monthly prize is awarded to the entry with the highest number of votes and comments received from the viewing public. The final monthly winner will also be announced on Aug. 4.
