Press Release Body: September 19, 2008, Las Vegas – Vision Media announces that they are going to push back the official release date of the Avijax Pay-Per-Video Software to November 15, 2008. Avijax is the leader in technology for a pay-per-view and video-on-demand software that works with an existing website, making it a premium resource for indie filmmakers, entertainers, educators, and public speakers.
The previous release date of September 30, 2008 was pushed back in order to improve the way that the Avijax Pay-Per-View Video Software handles the payment from the person purchasing the video (customer) to the person who published the video (publisher).
In the past, a publisher needed to have a PayPal Payment Pro account which came at an additional charge of $30 per month. Even though it did not have a contract with it, it still made signing up for Avijax Pay-Per-View Video software more risky, more complicated, and obviously more costly.
Now, as a publisher, all that is required to collect money is a basic PayPal account that requires nothing more then an email address. Also, with a free PayPal account there is no charge to move that money from the PayPal account to a bank account within the US.
The new procedure processes all transactions immediately using the Avijax Pay-Per-View Video Software, and then once the payment has been made, it will be deposited directly into the Publisher’s PayPal account using PayPal’s Mass Pay. Since deposits from the Avijax PayPal account to the publisher’s Paypal account are immediate, there will be no delay in payment to the publisher.
The fees that are associated are similar to that of PayPal, except that there is no $30 charge per month. The fees are $0.30 per transaction plus 5 percent of the cost of the video. “This is what we are being charged to process the payment, and nothing more, and we want to pass on this savings to our clients,” said Jeff Sandrini, President of Vision Media Group, the development company of Avijax Pay-Per-View Software.
There are plans in the future to allow publishers to choose from a variety of payment gateways such as PayPal, Authorize.net, CyberSource, and others so that their payments are processed and deposited directly into the account of their choice. The new choice to process payments was an overall decision on what would benefit the majority of customers both for speed and ease of collecting the money.
