The tournament will be held from 4:30 PM - 7:15 PM. Following at 7:30 PM will be the soccer game between Chivas USA and Houston Dynamo. Soccer-Tennis is a lightening quick hybrid sport with furious, non-contact three-on-three action. Dooley kicked off ASTO in 2006 with the first ever Soccer Tennis Pro Invitational, featuring top-tier professional players from eight nations. The ASTO teams for the 2008 exhibition Tournament will include: # International Team: Richard Gough (Scotland), Qeum Quem (Brazil), Jose Vasquez, (El Salvador) # USA: Alexi Lalas, Fernando Clavijo, Eric Wynalda, John O'Brian. # USA Coed: Joy Fawcett, Aly Wagner, Jaime Arroyo # Beach Soccer National Team Player : Austin Roman, Brandon Taguinod, Raphael Xexeo # All Star Team: Eric Wynalda, Thomas Dooley, Brian Wood
The ASTO event will be a party, with music and dancers... not just a soccer tennis game. It will be televised on Fox TV. The tournament is the ASTO promotion for the 2009 season. The goal of the ASTO event is to show potential owners and sponsors what Soccer Tennis is all about, and how much fun and potential this new game has.
