Press Release Body: How often do you hear of people damaging their ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament)? Knee Injuries are so common now that it is one of the most common causes for people to visit their physiotherapist for rehabilitation.
The quadriceps muscle, or 'quads' as they are more commonly known, is one of the quickest muscles to waste, or weaken after an injury. When we experience pain or discomfort a result of injury, we compensate for this by limping and or by not using the leg as we would ordinarily. The knock on effect of this is that our muscles weaken rapidly, making a complete recovery incredibly difficult.
Kneehab, from neurotech is an innovative means of rehabilitating quadriceps muscle after injury or surgery, by using electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to re-educate and rehabilitate the muscles. Kneehab uses, neurotech's patented technology called 'Multipath', which enables it to deliver highly focused and accurately co-ordinated quadriceps muscle contractions. These contractions will build up and re-develop any wastage that has occurred.
ACL reconstruction is often inevitable with a damaged ACL, Kneehab is ideal for use both pre and post operatively. By using the Kneehab prior to surgery, you can prevent the onset of muscle wastage, and inevitably, will have a strong muscle going into surgery. By doing this, the immediate wastage after surgery is minimised, and Kneehab can be used almost directly after surgery- meaning that you will have the power to rehabilitate quickly and on your way an incredibly speedy recovery.
Kneehab is an innovative and clinically proven, garment based Electrical Muscle Stimulation Device, and has been designed specifically to treat quadriceps wastage, that arises from being unable to exercise after injury. Kneehab can also be used in conjunction with a voluntary exercise regime, which allows you to control and optimise your rehabilitation.
