"Haunted! Mind Mysteries & THE Beyond," is the exciting Psychic Theater (http://PsychicTheater.com) presentation that tells the tale of hauntings at 1433 N. Main Avenue in Scranton, PA, that were connected to a murder / suicide / electrocution that occurred in the building.
Photos and newspaper articles of the happenings are on display. The sitters are taken through the seven steps to a successful seance in the haunted building that's over 100 hundred years old. Based on real people and events including infamous area spiritualist, George Valentine, "the man who challenged Houdini!" from nearby Wilkes Barre Pa. These challenges were even reported in The New York Times. The performance includes experiments in mind control, telepathy, clairvoyance, telekinesis, psycometry, sightless vision, and an exciting seance. The story ends with a seance in the dark where the spirits of the leading characters are summoned. This is a multi media event, with the audience being invited to partic ipate throughout, including, of course, during the seance. The presentation features paranormalist Dick Brooks (http://MysteryEntertainer.com) and psychic investigator Dorothy Dietrich.
Searching for ghosts has become something of a national pastime, as well as on national TV. This has served as the inspiration for this production.
The show opened in the summer of 2005 and is the longest running theatrical production in the area. This show is not recommended for the very young, weak of heart, those that are afraid of the dark, or easily frightened.
The curtain rises at 7 PM. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED and should be purchased in advance.
The event is performed year round and is the spookiest fun you will ever have. You've seen excerpts on "Exploring the Unknown," "Myths And Legends," and The Travel Channel, now it can be seen in person. The New York Times says their shows are " High Quality Entertainment!" $35.00 a ticket by reservation only. The presentation takes 3 hours and longer when the sprits are active, as they are this time of the year. It all takes place at the world famous Houdini Museum Theater.
