DirectRooms.com – The 19th Hamburg Independent Film Festival to be held form 30 September to 8 October 2011

Part of this prestigious international festival is the MICHEL International Children’s and Young People’s Film Festival. The MICHEL International Children’s and Young People’s Festival also offers a prize of E5000 where members of the public can nominate their favourite film and become part of the adjudicating jury. The film with the most jury votes will win the E 5,000 prize. The festival comprises over 170 German and international feature and documentary films previewing for their first public screening. The categories vary from highbrow to the more mainstream film. The MICHEL Kinder Film Fest (‘kinder’ is the German word for children) section of the Hamburg Independent Film Festival is targeted towards young people between the ages of 9 years to 14 years.
