DirectRooms.com can confirm that the second International Conference on Physics and Technology of Reactors and Applications will take place in Fez between the 26th and 28th of September 2011.
Known as PHYTRA, the first such conference took place in Marrakech in 2007. The Conference aims to offer a platform for innovation and discussion for researchers and practitioners in the complex world of physics and reactor technology. Morocco has now licensed its own TRIGA Mark 2 Research reactor and therefore the subject matter debated at the conference will be of great interest to Moroccan scientists, as well as other fledgling nuclear powered states across the world.
Speakers for the Conference have yet to be confirmed but subject matter under discussion will include neutron kinetics, nuclear data analysis and computer codes and benchmarks.
The conference is to be held in the Jnan Palace hotel in Fez, with good transport links to the nearby airport, Fez-Saiss, which is only seven miles away from the venue.
As a modern tourist city there are many hotels in Fez to choose from. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and away from the conference there are many beautiful monuments, mosques and other buildings to see. Fez was founded in 808 and the city is the second largest in Morocco. The world’s oldest university is based in the city, which was established in AD 859.
