Released on: October 06, 2011, 12:44 pm The International Choir Festival Barcelona 2011 is open to all choirs whether amateur or professional and is expected to see a broad range of participants from different countries. Rather than a strict competition the emphasis on the event is definitely on creating a festival atmosphere, where the focus is purely about the music. Choirs taking part will be given the chance to sing two works entirely of their own choosing and they can also decide whether they want their performance to be adjudicated or not. The festival will run from 23rd to 27th November 2011 at the Petit Palau Barcelona and the first day will be dedicated to seeing the sights of the city. On the Friday an Open Door Concert is being held as a warm up for the main event which will take place inside the Cathedral Basilica de Barcelona. The impressive acoustics are sure to add to the powerful vocals and then Saturday sees each of the entered choirs performing in what is sure be an impressive variety of singing styles.
