redspottedhanky.com, the online travel retailer, has raised£5,000 for the 2011 Prince's Trust 'Million Makers' corporate challenge.
The charity competition, launched earlier this year, invited businesses to collectively raise £1 million. This funding will support the youth charity's work with disadvantaged young people, helping them into jobs and training.
In support of the 'Million Makers' challenge, redspottedhanky.com has chosen to donate loyalty points, generated by employees who have booked travel on www.redspottedhanky.com, to The Prince’s Trust.
Andrea Morgan, director at redspottedhanky.com commented: "The loyalty points accumulated by our employees have the equivalent value of £5,000, which I am delighted to be presenting to The Prince's Trust. At redspottedhanky.com we fully support the work The Trust does and we are extremely pleased to be contributing to it."
'Million Makers' is a national competition which challenges teams of employees and university students to come together and raise £1 million for The Prince's Trust by pitching their business plans to a 'Dragons' Den' style panel, in order to secure an initial investment from The Prince's Trust.
Teams from companies and organisations across the UK then implement and promote their own mini enterprise. The aspiring entrepreneurs must work together to turn seed funding into profit for The Prince's Trust over the course of six months, competing against each other to run the most profitable mini enterprise.
About redspottedhanky.com:
Redspottedhanky.com is an online travel retailer, providing an easy way for leisure
and business travellers to compare and book cheap train tickets online, and to save up to 80% on the cost
of tickets booked in advance. Most notably, redspottedhanky.com offers something
truly unique when buying train tickets online: it is the first ever British online
retailer to offer loyalty points that can be redeemed against future train travel
for any journey in Great Britain! For regular train travellers in these
cash-strapped times, participation in the loyalty scheme would allow them to earn
points for redemption against future rail travel and be rewarded beyond the price of
a single ticket.
About The Prince's Trust:
Youth charity The Prince's Trust helps change young lives. It gives practical and
financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and
motivation. It works with 13-to-30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been
in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.
The Prince's Trust will help 50,000 disadvantaged young people this year, giving
them the confidence and skills to turn their lives around. More than three in four
young people helped by The Prince's Trust move into work, training or education.
