In a quest to show how magical reading can be, Butlins is welcoming some of the UK’s best-loved children’s authors to its resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness this February half term.
Butlins is joining World Book Day celebrations to give families the exclusive opportunity to meet children’s authors Holly Web and the Alien Invaders crew for special readings and super fun activity sessions.

Young fans had the chance to quiz Holly on her inspiration behind the cute furry characters.
15th February 2012, 11.30am: The power of the universe is coming to Butlins in Skegness on 15th February as the authors behind the Max Silver Alien Invaders series host an activity session that’s out of this world. The exhilarating event will be packed with readings, alien costumes, games and non-stop space fun.
On 16th February, Butlins Minehead is joining World Book Day celebrations to captivate kids’ imaginations with swizfiggling stories and time-twiddling tales. The exhilarating event will be packed with readings and performances from Roald Dahl’s Dirty Beasts and Revolting Rhymes – fairytales with a fun twist.
Hosted by The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, there will be plenty of opportunity for audience participation and hands-on fun.
The session is FREE and starts at 10:30am. If you’re not already booked in to Butlins Minehead for a half term break, visit www.butlins.com or call 0845 070 4730 to book a day pass.
Matt Rake, Head of Entertainment at Butlins, said: “Butlins is all about creating magical moments for families, so we’re thrilled to be joining forces with World Book Day to help let children’s imaginations run wild this half-term. Roald Dahl’s classic tales are really inspirational - and the perfect way to get children discovering the fun of reading.”
To help kick-start story time this spring, Butlins has already distributed 180,000 World Book Day £1 Book Tokens to families across the UK, giving kids the chance to read for free.
