This April, Britain's two biggest universities will line up to compete in one of the country's most beloved – and oldest - sporting fixtures, the annual boat race. Around 250,000 fans are expected to line the route, with 120 million watching on screens across the world.

Starting at Putney Bridge, the two crews will row down the 4.25 mile course, through some of the most beautiful stretches of the Thames. The race begins at 2.15, with pubs and restaurants along the route expecting to be packed. Spectators hoping to witness the boats are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
