Suchet Coming to West End

Celebrated actor to star in family drama during summer 2012.

David Suchet, one of Britain's best loved actors, is to appear at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue this summer. Suchet, Kyle Soller and Laurie Metcalf are heading the cast of Long Day's Journey Into Night, the semi-autobiographical account of a family haunted by past demons, from the pen of American playwright Eugene O'Neill.

The Pulitzer Prize winning play is running at the Apollo between 2 nd April and 18 th August. It marks Suchet's return to London theatre after years in movies and television, most notably as Hercule Poirot, a role with which he found worldwide fame and acclaim.

Set in 1912, the play tells the story of James Tyrone and his wife and sons as they live out a long summer's day in Connecticut, revealing more about the true level of dysfunction in their family. It first opened on Broadway in the fifties, and has been revived many times since. This performance is to be directed by Anthony Page. Tickets cost between £21-£53.50 with Premium Seats for £76.
