May 16, 2012, 1:50 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The capital's biggest one-day music event, Field Day, is returning to Victoria Park for its sixth year this June.
A number of big bands will travel to East London to take part in the festival, covering electro, folk, dance and rock. Despite it's ever and more impressive line-up Field Day prides itself on offering a more edgy, leftfield choice of music than some of the capital's more mainstream festival offerings.
LondonTown.com have pledged to help travelling music fans find affordable accommodation in East London by offering a number of discounted London hotels for the weekend of the festival.
The lineup for this year's event includes big name acts including Beirut, Liars, Metronomy, and indie stalwarts Franz Ferdinand as well as an unparalleled array of red hot emerging artists like Grimes, Rustie and SBTRKT. London's hippest neighbourhood will continue the revelry after the last act, with local clubs putting on Field Day-related nights and after-parties. Tickets are £30 for the day.
Among the London hotels on offer via LondonTown.com is the Holiday Inn Express London Limehouse. A pleasant half hour walk to and from Victoria Park, LondonTown.com is offering an 80% discount on the usual nightly rate, bringing the cost for a double room down to just £50.
The Holiday Inn Express London Stratford is also taking part in the deal, with double and twin rooms available from £52 – a 79% discount on the usual rate. The Holiday Inn at Stratford is less then 40 minutes walk from Victoria Park.
